Letters from John T. Wood to Horace Parker Chandler relate to the preparation and discussion of lectures to be made by Wood in March 1875 for the Lowell Institute's series of lectures. The letters discuss the potential subject of the discussions: the excavation at Ephesus and the "castles of England with their historical and legendary associations." The letters also discuss Wood's previously successful lectures at the Royal Institute, his use of magic lantern slides, the fee required by Wood, and a one dollar and fifteen cent debt owed by Wood after the lecture. Also included is Wood's biographical information to be read prior to the lecture, written by Wood.
